Welcome to the cluug.com Alpha User program!
You are here to try out the cluug.com semantic personal information management system. You will see a “minimum product”, it works well for one case. We are going to add more features month by month. For this, we value your feedback. In the future, we will charge you and others a fee for using our service, but for now we invite you to use it for free. We will prioritize on features that really create a benefit for you and are of worth.
To make the Alpha User Program an enjoyable experience for, read our principles:

Before you join the Alpha User program, please agree to the following:
- We will interview you for 2 hours in person and you take time for this.
- We will send you emails and you agree to receive them.
- If you want to publish negative reviews about cluug, you must say that it is a limited preview version of a product that will grow.
- You must not copy or imitate our product.
- You agree to our General Terms of Service.
If you agree to all this, contact us via e-mail to get an invitation code. It will take some days until we get back to you. Enjoy the internet in the meantime.

What to expect
Enjoy What you See
- You see only the limited preview. Enjoy what you see and use it as much as you can.
- Our analysis has shown: links are a great idea and really missing in software products. Cluug helps you to create links right now. Create links and navigate between them – go ahead!
There will be more in the future
- From our analysis of previous users, we expect that some of you are going to ask for the following features soon, which we plan to realize:
- A nice text editor to write the comments and descriptions. We call it the “semantic wiki editor”. It helps you to write down facts and create more links while doing so.
- A web API (application programming interface) that allows other developers and companies to integrate their software with ours.
- Importing of your data. You have bookmarks, files, e-mails, contacts, and more. We will help you to link those using Cluug.
- A group version. You will be able to share things and links in groups. This will help you to exchange information quicker with co-workers and stay up to date.
- A desktop client. It will allow you to tag items in Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, your browser, and your file-system.
- As you now know that Cluug is evolving and will grow, judge the software not only by what you currently see. We know that more is needed to make this good product a great product. The scientific research we did in the past helps us to choose the next step.
This product may be excellent for you – or not
- People are different. You may like Cluug very much while others don’t. This is o.k.
- We currently have to focus on people who are willing to pay for a good software service. If you are looking for free software, you won’t find it here. But maybe you or someone you know you can help us to raise capital so that we can go into a larger market.
- It was found that project managers in technical and creative industries understand and like our services. These folks cope with many emails and projects in parallel. If you want to use the product for other activities, you may find the software doesn’t work as expected. Then you have two choices: stop using it or extend Cluug with a service on top using our API.
- For the desktop clients, we focus first on professional Microsoft Windows users. On our own, we love and use both Apple’s MacOs and Linux a lot and want to get the product working there later.
Help us to make it better
- You will have a lot of ideas how to make it better. We love your ideas and collect them.
- We will realize features that many users love, so some of your ideas will not make it into the product.
- Don’t expect miracles.
- We want to talk to you in person. We would like to visit you and interview you for about 2 hours. If you join the Alpha User program, you have to agree to this.
- As a reward for your time, we can give you some tips how to improve your time management or your folder structure during this interview.
- We will give you examples how to use the service and what to do next. These instructions will be sent to you via e-mail. We are happy to receive your feedback about these tutorials.
General Terms of Service
Before joining the Alpha User Program, you must agree to our General Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. The most important parts are repeated here for your convenience.
- Your data is of value and we take care to keep it safe. But we are not liable if your data is lost.
- Your data belongs to you and you have all rights to them.
- An export and backup feature is not completed yet, but it will be in the next months.
- We keep your data private. We do not pass it on to others.
- There is currently one exception: to give you good recommendations, we are using the service “OpenCalais”. If you want, read their Terms of Service. They are similar to ours. OpenCalais is trusted by many companies and organizations worldwide and we expect that they respect your privacy. To give you a choice, we are currently working on a version of our service which lets you deactivate the OpenCalais integration.
- You are not allowed to copy or imitate our software. You must not copy our user interface, service, or algorithms.
- For the Alpha User Program, you agree to be interviewed in person about the product for two hours.
- If your judgment about the product or our company is negative, and you want to publish your negative review, we require you to include the fact that this is a limited preview version of a product that will grow over the next months and years. If you cannot live with this restriction, you cannot join and have to leave the Alpha User program.
- Of course, we always love to read positive reviews by you and have no requirements for those.
- We are happy to get notified when you publish something about our product.
- Note that our terms of service explicitly allow you to make screenshots and videos of our products.
